Nurses, 13 million strong, can be a powerful force in the global fight against the tobacco epidemic. This special, one-day pre-conference workshop will promote the development of a new global network of nurses in tobacco control to enhance capacity building. Nursing leaders in tobacco control will facilitate discussion of opportunities and resources available to enhance nursing involvement in tobacco control. A special focus of the workshop will be to address strategies for increasing involvement of nurses in tobacco cessation interventions. We hope to have representation from nursing leaders throughout the world

Join tobacco dependence treatment providers from around the globe for a pre-conference on treatment at the World Conference on Tobacco or Health. The pre-conference program will address treatment as a high priority in the context of the WHO MPower Report and Article 14 of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). It will include notable key note speakers, updates on the science of treatment, development of guidelines and training resources, and interactive break-out sessions.
Confirmed speakers include Richard Hurt, Nancy Rigotti, Scott Leischow, Eduardo Bianco, and other experts from around the world. More details will be communicated soon
