Access 2008: Building a Tobacco-Free Future will showcase what's new and next in tobacco control. Access 2008 will provide leaders in tobacco control and related fields with motivation and vision to implement successful strategies in their own programs and will reinforce local initiatives by placing them within national and international networks. The conference is open to all tobacco professionals, educators, law enforcement, scientists, researchers, policy-makers, and others who work or learn in a tobacco related field.
The objective of the conference is to discuss and adopt evidence based policy recommendations and practice oriented implementation strategies to increase smoking cessation interventions by General Practitioners in Europe.
The conference is the final event of an international, multidisciplinary consultation procedure.
We will present the scientific evidence from a 27 country study on factors that hinder and promote GP’ smoking cessation interventions, the results of an economic study on the health and economic benefits of policies to increase GP use of smoking cessation interventions and good practice examples of what has been done in Europe so far.
Participation is free of charge. The conference is open for a maximum of 200 participants. Registrations will be accepted on a “first come-first serve” basis. The conference language is English.
