Physical activity and sport, which form healthy lifestyle, providing healthy influences on the organism are distinguished among other methods of prevention and cessation of smoking. They are worth of detailed analysis. The aim of our research was the studying of the role of physical activity, expressed in the form of physical exercises and sport as methods of prevention and cessation of smoking. In the research, conducted on 1830 people of the 14-85 years of age, were used methods of anonymous questioning for the studying of the correlation between physical activity and smoking. Possibilities of smoking cessation were studied on the young (14-18 years of age, 60 people) and adults (40-49 years of age, 60 people), all of them being healthy people. They were divided on 3 subgroups by influences used: A - only psychologically-pedagogical methods (PPM), B - only activization of moving regimen (AMR) and C - combination PPM with AMR. Results of the researches revealed "protecting influence" of physical activity and, especially, of sport in relation to smoking. This influence is characterized by lasting effect, which is kept even after quitting exercises in old age (75 years of age and more). Authentic differences between the influence of PPM and PPr weren't expressed, lasting (6-12 months) influence shows the advantage of AMR (p<0,05). Combined use of PPM and AMR has the biggest effect.
