TEN WAYS TO KILL YOUR HUSBAND
- AUTHOR(S): L G Petersen, F Sorensen
- INSTITUTION: County of Vejle, Vejle, Denmark.
Participation in humorous and informative activities, which involves "learning-by-doing" will always open eyes and often lead to change in behaviour. This is one of the main experiences of the preventative health project "Vejle County - a Heart County".
Vejle County - a Heart County has been working intensively with the problem of smoking for six years. This has led to the acquisition of valuable experience now used in a campaign specifically targeted at tobacco smoking, based on this strategy:
The person in the figure (not attached) is moving along the highway of life, engaged upon the life-long task of pushing his health in front of him. This is sometimes a hard job, and we all have habits that help to counteract the process. And we all need assistance in this
- process: information (Why stop smoking?)
- training and practice (smoking cessation 1 learning-by-doing-situations)
- changes in the general environment (smoke policies in workplaces etc.)
When these three considerations are brought to work together, a synergy effect can be achieved, especially when humour is the ice-breaker. In Helsinki we will present the ten ways to kill your husband!
