- AUTHORS: A Päären, A Lipand
- INSTITUTION: Estonian Centre for Health Education and Promotion, Tallinn, Estonia
The aim of the campaign was to reduce smoking among adults in Estonia. The international contest for smokers lasted exactly four weeks. We distributed the information and entry forms through national mass media: through local newspapers, 4 500 special posters (in libraries, buss stations, etc.),and weekly special television programs. There were 691 participants that took part in this competition.
The campaign started with a show in the Town Hall Square and ended with a special show on national television.
The names of 2 winners were selected from a barrel containing 691 ballots. The prizes were trips to Italy and Spain.
This contest was more successful than last years.
