FIRE DAMAGES
Data for the early-middle 1990’s concerning to value of damages are not available. The number of fire causes were 918 in 1998 where fire was unequivocally due to smoking. Smoking-caused fire damages (1998): 2.8 billion HUF!

HEALTH DAMAGES
Smoking-caused damages (expenses connected with the treatment of diseases resulting from smoking, the costs of ambulant and hospital care, sick pay, medicine subsidy, premature disability, untimely death, etc.) total approx. 330 - 370 billion HUF a year!
