Lorillard produced 13 billion Kent micronite filter cigarettes from 1952 to 1957 with the

ad touting "Just what the doctor ordered...maximum health protection." The filter was

composed of 30% asbestos and 70% cotton and acetate. 20 out of the 36 workers of

Specialties, Inc. which produced the filter subsequently died from lung cancer and

asbestos poisoning; one of the worker's wives also died from inhaling asbestos fibers

from her husband's clothing.
