| | Lorillard produced 13 billion Kent micronite filter cigarettes from 1952 to 1957 with the |
| | ad touting "Just what the doctor ordered...maximum health protection." The filter was |
| | composed of 30% asbestos and 70% cotton and acetate. 20 out of the 36 workers of |
| | Specialties, Inc. which produced the filter subsequently died from lung cancer and |
| | asbestos poisoning; one of the worker's wives also died from inhaling asbestos fibers |
| | from her husband's clothing. |
