The state of Minnesota has filed a lawsuit against the tobacco industry to claim

reimbursement for tobacco-caused Medicare expenses. The suit also changes fraud

and conspiracy, deceptive advertising and trade practices, and a violation of antitrust

laws. At the first hearing, the tobacco industry sent 28 attorneys, all white males in

white shirts and business suits. The industry has filed innumerable motions and five

appeals. It has submitted 9 million pages of documents that fill two document

warehouses.
