| | The state of Minnesota has filed a lawsuit against the tobacco industry to claim |
| | reimbursement for tobacco-caused Medicare expenses. The suit also changes fraud |
| | and conspiracy, deceptive advertising and trade practices, and a violation of antitrust |
| | laws. At the first hearing, the tobacco industry sent 28 attorneys, all white males in |
| | white shirts and business suits. The industry has filed innumerable motions and five |
| | appeals. It has submitted 9 million pages of documents that fill two document |
| | warehouses. |
